【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedtobeusedbywireproducersandthermocouplemanufacturersforcertificationofrefractorymetalthermocouples.Itisintendedtoprovideaconsistentmethodforcalibrationofrefractorymetalthermocouplesreferencedtoacalibratedradiationthermometer.Uncertaintyincalibrationandoperationoftheradiationthermometer,andproperconstructionanduseofthetestfurnaceareofprimaryimportance.Calibrationestablishesthetemperature-emfrelationshipforaparticularthermocoupleunderaspecifictemperatureandchemicalenvironment.However,duringhightemperaturecalibrationorapplicationatelevatedtemperaturesinvacuum,oxidizing,reducingorcontaminatingenvironments,anddependingontemperaturedistribution,localirreversiblechangesmayoccurintheSeebeckCoefficientofoneorboththermoelements.Iftheintroducedinhomogeneitiesaresignificant,theemffromthethermocouplewilldependonthedistributionoftemperaturebetweenthemeasuringandreferencejunctions.Athightemperatures,theaccuracyofrefractorymetalthermocouplesmaybelimitedbyelectricalshuntingerrorsthroughtheceramicinsulatorsofthethermocoupleassembly.Thiseffectmaybereducedbycarefulchoiceoftheinsulatormaterial,butaboveapproximately2100x00B0;C,theelectricalshuntingerrorsmaybesignificantevenforthebestinsulatorsavailable.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthecalibrationofrefractorymetalthermocouplesusingaradiationthermometerasthestandardinstrument.Thistestmethodisintendedforusewithtypesofthermocouplesthatcannotbeexposedtoanoxidizingatmosphere.Theseproceduresareappropriateforthermocouplecalibrationsattemperaturesabove800176;C(1472176;F).1.2Thecalibrationmethodisapplicabletothefollowingthermocoupleassemblies:1.2.1Type1-Bare-wirethermocoupleassembliesinwhichvacuumoraninertorreducinggasistheonlyelectricalinsulatingmediumbetweenthethermoelements.1.2.2Type2-Assembliesinwhichloosefittingceramicinsulatingpieces,suchassingle-boreordouble-boretubes,areplacedoverthethermoelements.1.2.3Type2A-Assembliesinwhichloosefittingceramicinsulatingpieces,suchassingle-boreordouble-boretubes,areplacedoverthethermoelements,permanentlyenclosedandsealedinaloosefittingmetalorceramictube.1.2.4Type3-Swagedassembliesinwhicharefractoryinsulatingpowderiscompressedaroundthethermoelementsandencasedinathin-walledtubeorsheathmadeofahighmeltingpointmetaloralloy.1.2.5Type4-Thermocoupleassembliesinwhichonethermoelementisintheshapeofaclosed-endprotectiontubeandtheotherthermoelementisasolidwireorrodthatiscoaxiallysupportedinsidetheclosed-endtube.Thespacebetweenthetwothermoelementscanbefilledwithaninertorreducinggas,orwithceramicinsulatingmaterials,orkeptundervacuum.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
